FIRE PROTECTION COATINGS Limited. has its origins in the Hydrocarbon and Aerospace Industries and has been an industry leader since 1987 in the design and application of epoxy coatings for these specialist fire-risk situations. Following a Management Buy-Out in late September 2002, FIRE PROTECTION COATINGS Limited was formed. All existing long and short-term contracts were taken over as well as the experienced design and production team. Fire Protection Coatings Limited have developed and grown and dedicated work areas have been constructed to suit shot-blasting and substrate preparation ready for sprayed, cast, moulded or hand-finished fire protective coatings to be applied. Fire Protection Coatings Limited have expanded their capability to include a wide range of fire protective coatings and application techniques to numerious substrates ranging from steel to GRP and fabrics. In 2008 Fire Protection Coatings Limited launched 2 Sister companies to specialise in the supply and application of specialist intumescent coatings, structural mortars, fire stopping and sealants. All companies operate to BS EN ISO 9001:2008. In December 2009, FPCL moved to purpose built premises at 1-3 Highway Point, 239 Torrington Avenue, Coventry CV4 9AP increasing its floorspace and capacity to undertake the specialist application requirements of its clients. Considerable effort has been expended on adapting working procedures to ISO 9001:2000 standards which meet the expectations of FPCL's international industrial and defence customer base. At the same time, the skills base and product sourcing has been enhanced to enable FPCL to provide a range of solutions, from fire engineering and design to practical advice on fire protection options and applications. Typical FPCL projects include: fire protection to transport container units rated for IM; fuel system actuators; smoke damper motors; heavy duty oil & gas valves; protective casings for potentially explosive & inflammable materials; fabrics and seating for road and rail purposes: composite structures and materials for marine and land use; electronic components housings. The company is an Approved Vendor to MBDA and a fully committed participant in activities sponsored by The British Airports Group (BAG), Midlands Aerospace Alliance and the Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP).
