12/5/09 FPCL WORKING WITH THE ENEMY- The FabFire Flame Retardant spray team were called into action to spray a black cotton fabric stage set for the indie band The Enemy to provide flame retardancy. This great new band will be supporting Oasis this summer iat the Recoh Stadium in Coventry.

12/2/08 FPCL through their FPDP Division have launched a new Acrylic Fire Resistant Mastic which is designed to fill gaps upto 30mm giving upto 4 hours fire protection. 19/11/07 FPCL at the prestigious LORD STAFFORD AWARDS at Birminghams NEC were runners up in the Impact Through Innovasion catagory for the callaboration with The University of Wolverhampton on their new De-Icer product and received a Highly Commended Certificate. This product is designed to prevent the transfer of heat to the electronic actuator operating the de-icer equipment reducing the outside temperature from 300 degrees C down to 100 degrees C. This is a considerable achievement given the stiff competition across the whole of the West Midlands.

7/11/07 A new range of products FabShield IPW has been launched by FPCL. These products are designed to protection timber and provide spread of flame in a fire situation. The products can be applied in our Coventry Workshops or can be supplied from stock. Approved applicators are available to undertake on site work to the customers requirements if required.

5/11/07 FPCL has appointed Darren Atkins as their new Sales Manager. He will be responsible for sales of specialist fire protective products throughout the UK.

31/10/07 FPCL has successfully tested its FabFire flame retardant on corrigated cardboard paper to provide flame retardancy.

10/9/07 FPCL has successfully reached the final stage of the prestigeous Lord Stafford Awards for Innovation and Collaboration. The product designed by FPCL being considered, provides vital protection to temperature extremes on actuators on aircraft, keeping them operable and extending the period of maintenance required.

30/8/07 An order to provide fire protection to a fuel barrier has been received by FPCL. Following extensive testing and trails a solution was developed. FPCL will provide the application for a major UK aerospace company using the latest epoxy technology given low smoke and toxcicity.

14/7/07 Following the AGM of the ASFP in Tewkesbury it was announced that Wilf Butcher will take over as Chief Executive from Graham Ellicott.

10/7/07 FPCL recently assisted in the fire retardancy of the fabrics for the Bollywood Awards in Sheffield. The fabrics were protected with FabFire F2 and formed a backdrop for the eighth International Indian Film Acadamy Award ceremony.

10/11/06 Fire Safety regulations finally changed in October. The new regulations affect all non-domestic premises in England and Wales. They will replace fire certificates which were previously issued by the Fire Services and will no longer be applicable. The new system is based on Risk Assessment which should be carried out by a responsible person and is the responsibility of the premises owner. This competent person can be a member of your staff if they are capable of handling this. Fire precautions within the building should be addressed and risks concerning flammable substances should be specifically addressed and a written plan drawn up. This is a requirement of the regulations but may also be sort by your insurers. There are a number of professionals specialising in undertaking Risk Assessments.

20/10/06 Fire Safety 'Keep it in the Box' is a new series of seminars organised by the ASFP in conjunction with the Association of Building Engineers. It deals with structural and compartmentation issues and how to contain fire to its room of origin. The seminars are to be held: 11 Dec 2006 York, 26 January 2007 Preston, 23 February 2007 Bournemouth.

2/8/06 The ASFP are running a series of interesting seminars entitled ' Fire Safety-Keep it in the Box'. These seminars will be looking at structural and compartmentation issues associated with fire containment within buildings. the dates for these seminars are as follows; 11th December in York, 26th January 2007 in Preston and 23rd February in Bournemouth. 14/7/06 FPCL will be attending the Farnborough Airshow 17th to 23rd July 2006 and will be dispaying it's new literature 'Shielding Safety Critical Components-Aerospace' on the MAA Stand C11 in Hall1. 9/6/06 One of the highlights this summer was the Chelsea Flower Show. FPCL were very pleased to be of assistance to the Royal Horticultural Society-Rosemoor. FPCL provided it's FabFire flame retardant for use on their highly acclaimed gold medal standard exhibit. The product was applied to the underside of a thatched construction which provided an excellant focal point within the display.

12/6/05 Peers have approved the Regulatory Reform(Fire Safety) Order, reports the ASFP. Introducing the regulation, ODPM Minister Baroness Andrews explained that it would place the responsibility for ensuring that fire safety regulations were complied with on the person responsible for the premises.

2/6/05 FPCL has expanded it's operation in Coventry and has appointed a new Production Manager, Stuart Atkins and 5 more production personnel. This forms part of a new production line following a new contract to produce specialist fire protection for oil actuating systems.

17/4/04 FPCL have successfully fire protected WOLFIE THE DOG. FPCL had a strange request recently when they were asked to apply flame retardant to protect a fabric creature along with his friends a duck, a cat, a penguin and a number of other characters for an exhibition in London for the Big Wide Talk Childrens Project. FPCL used FabFire F2 their flame retardant which is suitable for a wide range of fabrics.

23/3/04 GRP has always been a difficult substrate on which to achieve good fire protection results. FPCL has sucessfully achieved some useful results on fire protection recently on these type of products. The results relate to both fire protection and insulation.

20/8/03 FPCL have successfully tested a new Thermal Actuator Enclosure at Chiltern International Test Centre. The Enclosue box is design to take an actuator and keep it operating for upto 90 minutes in a fire situation. This type of actuator is generally used to operate smoke dampers and therefor is a critical component in a building design. This type of actuator is also commonly used in shipping and for this FPCL has a 60 minute marine version. For further information leave us a message on this site.
